Pay For Performance
Will Your business Qualify?
We hope So!
PAY-FOR-PERFORMANCE MARKETING & ADVERTISING
You want a marketing and advertising team that is objectively invested in your long-term success.
You want a team that’s incentivized to constantly improve and optimize marketing and advertising performance.
You want a team that is continually developing and testing new campaigns, new messages, new ads, new videos, new channels and new ways to increase your revenue.
You want full-service marketing and advertising support, along with more accountability, which means you want a partner with “skin in the game.”
- In brief, you want to reduce or eliminate your ongoing advertising expenses while simultaneously increasing ad performance and sales.
- On our end, we want unique partners that offer not only great products and services, but who also offer opportunities for significant expansion and mutual profit.
If this sounds like you, then learn a little more about our pay-for-performance (P4P) partnerships.
TWO PAY-FOR-PERFORMANCE MODELS
We offer two types of pay-for-performance models.
100% P4P: This is a complete pay-for-performance partnership where Skyworks covers the costs of marketing and advertising services as well as media costs (Google, Facebook, radio, mail, print, TV, etc.). In exchange we receive a percentage of the new sales for remuneration. In other words, the sales we generate needs to be profitable for your business and our business.
PARTIAL P4P: Some or all of the marketing and advertising services are provided on a P4P basis and you pay the media costs (Google, Facebook, radio, mail, print, TV, etc.). In this case, the sales are typically profitable for your business, but the volume is not high enough to support our business, which necessitates partial payments on your end to make the partnership win-win.
How do we sort out who qualifies for what?
The truth is, we’re not the right fit for all businesses. And only specific businesses are a good fit for us.
Ultimately, we find win-win partnerships through a 90-day trial period.
We use real-world advertising and sales data to demonstrate an initial opportunity with your product/service. Both sides of the potential partnership get to see actual conversion metrics, independent of optimistic projections.
You get to see what we can deliver in a short period.
We get a glimpse into what you can deliver.
Of course anyone familiar with professional marketing and advertising knows some heavy lifting occurs in the beginning of campaign development, which is why ad agencies of the past (and present) desire multi-year contracts to amortize the initial investment into the future.
Furthermore, in most cases, 90 days is simply not enough time to fully optimize a campaign.
Hence, what we’re seeking are unique opportunities that will demonstrate high value in a short period of time, which we can then extrapolate into significant future growth.
As productive as this trial period is, what it will not inform is how well you can handle scaling up your business.
Many business owners say, “It won’t be a problem.”
More often than not, that’s an expression of inexperience.
The reality is that scaling up beyond your experience can be more than a problem. It can be many problems. Anything weak in your business processes will break. And some of your strong points may become so stressed they may break, too.
Personnel problems, customer support issues, shipping backlogs, sold-out products and fully-maxed service offerings may seem like good problems to a business that is generating a lot of revenue. But from our perspective, it’s a loss of our remuneration any time the expansion of your operation stalls.
Don’t get me wrong. None of this is going to occur during the 90-day trial. But if the trial period demonstrates favorable results, we still need to ascertain the risks of taking your business into uncharted territory.
Hence, the 90-day trial is our best — but imperfect — guide to a potential partnership.
The greatest imperfection is that we may not make enough money in the trial period selling your stuff to cover all our costs.
In brief, what all this means is that, by necessity, we need to be selective about which businesses we can offer a 90-day trial.
P4P PARTNER SELECTION PROCESS
So with the above as a preamble, here is our P4P partner selection process:
- INTRO: Gain an understanding of what we are offering by reading this page.
- APPLY: Request and instantly receive your P4P application. Answer the questions and email them back. CLICK HERE FOR P4P APPLICATION.
- TRIAL PERIOD: For qualifying applicants, expect about 30 days of coordination followed by a 90-day advertising trial.
- P4P PARTNERSHIP: A favorable advertising trial establishes a win-win partnership to expand your business into the future. That’s what both Skyworks Marketing and your business both want!
90-DAY TRIAL PROGRAM COSTS
Of course we’d love for all our applicants to qualify for a trial period. That doesn’t happen.
We can only support opportunities that meet criteria most likely to achieve short-term success that we can then grow into substantial sales increases.
THERE ARE COSTS TO OUR P4P TRIAL PROGRAM:
INITIAL EVALUATION: First of all, your application will need to be evaluated (by an actual human!). We need to assess your industry, your business and which one of your products or service offerings that we can test quickly. Anticipate a response in about 3 business days. You’ll receive either a polite decline, an acceptance, or you may receive additional questions to answer before receiving a decline or acceptance. This is somewhat analogous to a venture capital firm evaluating whether to make an investment.
CAMPAIGN CONCEPTION & CONSULTATION: If we move forward with a 90-day advertising trial, we spend about 30 days consulting, conceptualizing and planning ad messaging. From start to finish, the working period is about 4 months. But the actual advertising trial is 90 days. We communicate with you via phone and email along with a parallel research and analysis process. This is a scaled-down variation of our full STRATEGIC CONSULTING & PLAN service, which is $20K.
DEVELOPMENT OF TEST WEBSITE: Before launching the 90-day ad tests, we build a simple website for one of your products or services to test with multiple landing pages. This means we won’t need access to your existing website. In some circumstances, we may be able to use your own landing pages, but in such a case they would need to be private without the possibility of any extraneous traffic that would compromise the integrity of the advertising tests.
MARKETING/AD SERVICES. This represents new account set up for Google and/or Facebook as well as the marketing and advertising labor for creative development, mostly for pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. This includes campaign organization, execution, ad writing, keyword research and graphics.
TESTING. Neither the 90-day advertising trial or our ongoing advertising after the 90-day trial represents a “set and forget” campaign. In fact, from our perspective, testing ‘never’ ends. It’s true that we can do even more robust testing once acceptable mutual profitability is demonstrated and a partnership is established. But even after we’ve optimized a campaign for longer than 90 days we are constantly seeking new channels to test. (See HOW TO TEST… for more info.)
MEDIA BUYING: For the 90-day advertising trial period, media buying is almost always for pay-per-click (PPC) advertising. We typically will not start video advertising, TV, radio, direct mail or other channels until after the initial 90 days. (We reserve our full advertising services for those that become P4P partners after a successful 90-day trial period). You’ll be paying media costs, usually to Google or Facebook or both. We’ll use a brand-new Google and/or Facebook advertising account and you will have full access to the dashboard(s) so that all media transactions are fully transparent.
The more competitive your market, the more data and testing required to gain meaningful insights into your conversion metrics, which determines actual media costs.
Additionally, data science and artificial intelligence require a large volume of information to analyze, which means the performance improves over time: The best results occur after 90 days. Hence, we must view potential trial opportunities through the lens of how fast we conceive we’ll generate productive results for not only your business, but ours as well.
It’s also important to appreciate that when we decline a 90-day trial, such is not an opinion about the success potential of your business. Such a decline is merely our evaluation of the ‘short-term’ opportunity for both sides of the potential partnership. Given enough time and resources, we can make any business a marketing success. But we need to seek partnerships that provide mutual profit quickly, not merely in the future.
In essence, the key question is “How fast can we generate enough revenue to provide profit for both our businesses?”
Stated another way, if the 90-day advertising trial demonstrates a profit for you but does not demonstrate enough profit on our end, the trial period won’t be able to move forward into an ongoing P4P partnership.
Again, the partnership needs to be win-win.
DO YOU QUALIFY FOR OUR P4P SERVICES?
P4P PARTNERS WE ARE SEEKING
We are seeking long-term partners with whom we provide the marketing, advertising, data science and artificial intelligence expertise, including creating all types of content and videos, for the purpose of generating new leads and/or sales for you.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR SKYWORKS MARKETING?
In return for our risk, investment and production, we are seeking P4P remuneration. It is our goal to grow your business and therefore simultaneously our compensation.
IDEAL P4P PARTNER PROFILE
There are many variables we evaluate regarding a potential partnership. Here are some positive and negative attributes:
- POSITIVES: We are seeking to partner with companies that provide unique, exceptional products and services with high margins. Ideally, you provide best-in-class products or services. Your company is already doing well and recognizes the potential for massive sales increase; perhaps to dominate a market. Ideally, at least one of the executives of the business has real-world experience with scaling up a business. We need to see at least an 8 to 9 figure opportunity.
- NEGATIVES: If you sell a commodity product or service (cameras, computers, beauty salon, lawn services, etc.), we’re not the right partner for you. Those are fine businesses, but not a fit for what we are seeking. Additionally, it will be harder to qualify without a track record of success and happy customers. If you’re in an industry where no competitor is making 8 figures and there’s no compelling reason why your business can attain that growth, the opportunity is not an ideal fit.
Occasionally, we may consider a 7-figure business opportunity, but such a business would need an exceptional profit margin.
Lastly, you need to be easy to work with. This is a true marketing and advertising partnership that will evolve over time, as informed by sales metrics. It is not a passive affiliate program.
